Tour Reservation

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE TOUR?
Support and guidance from our team, carefully selected accommodations, delicious local food and wine and the use of our high end bikes.

HOW DO I PAY FOR A TOUR? WHAT IS THE DEPOSIT AND WHEN IS THE BALANCE DUE?
For scheduled tour reservations made more than 90 days prior to the trip, a 500€ deposit is due at the time of booking. If your reservation is made within 90 days of departure, full payment is due at the time of booking. For Private tours, payment terms may vary. Payments must be in €, and can be made by credit card (via Stripe payment link) or by bank wire. We do not accept cash.

IF I BOOK A TOUR, CAN I BE GUARANTEED THAT IT WILL RUN?
With 2 confirmed reservations a tour is guaranteed to run. If, by the moment your balance is due, you are the only booked guest an extra solo supplement might be charged in order to confirm the tour. Otherwise the paid deposit will be refunded.

WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL MY TRIP?
We always try to be as accommodating as possible when contingencies force a fellow cyclist to change plans. Please check the Terms and Conditions page for our official cancellation policy.

CAN I MAKE A GROUP RESERVATION?
Yes you can, with some guidance from our staff. Please contact us if you wish to complete a multi travelers reservation.

DO YOU DO PRIVATE OR CUSTOM TRIPS?
Yes we do! A tour is Private when guests reserve a whole scheduled departure. A tour is Custom when it’s tailor made to the guests’ desires. Possibilities are endless; to learn more check our Private tour page

WHAT IS A SINGLE SUPPLEMENT?
The tour prices listed on this website are based on double occupancy. The single Supplement is an extra charge requested to secure a private room to those guests who prefer not to share it.

WHAT IF I’M TRAVELING SOLO?
Solo travelers can enjoy our tours thanks to the friendly company of our guides and of fellow cyclists. At the time of booking a solo traveller is requested to select the single room occupancy but, if open to sharing the room with a traveler of the same gender, can indicate this preference during checkout. Should we successfully pair two solo travelers in the same room, the single room supplement will be waived from the balance due.

DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Travel insurance is not mandatory to join our tours. However we suggest you to purchase a Travel Protection Plan in order to protect your travel investments, your belongings and most important yourself.

HOW BIG ARE THE GROUPS ON SCHEDULED TOURS?
In order to meet every guest pace and desires we only work with small groups of maximum 6/8 cyclists depending on the tour.  

PREPARATION FOR YOUR TOUR

WHAT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS DO I NEED?
Required documents to enter Italy vary according to your nationality. Please verify with your embassy what kind of documents/visas you must obtain before your departure. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PACK?
Once your reservation is confirmed a packing list specific for every destination will be shared with you.

HOW SHOULD I TRAIN FOR THE TOUR?
Our rider type page gives a good idea of the physical effort required on every tour. As general rule we suggest you ride as frequently as possible to have a good physical condition, to get comfortable in the saddle and to make the most of your cycling vacation.

RIDES AND GEARS

HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE VARYING RIDING ABILITIES OF A GROUP?
Working with small groups enable us to be very flexible and to make everybody happy. On every ride you can count on the support of our cycling guides and support van. 

WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT DO YOU OFFER DURING A TOUR?
Our main goal is your enjoyment of every single moment with us. For this reason top of the line service is at your disposal on and off the bike. Van support, mechanical assistance, local insights and help with everything you may need on tour.

CAN I USE AN E-BIKE ON A ROAD BIKE TOUR OR VICEVERSA?
On some tours, in order to provide guests the best possible experience, we prefer not to mix different types of bikes. On others this solution is absolutely welcome. Please look at the specific tour page to see which scenario it falls into or get in touch for more information 

WHAT BIKES DO YOU PROVIDE?
We know that good rides require good bikes and for this reason we’re very proud of the high end selection of bikes our guests can pick from. Lear more about our bikes

CAN I BRING MY OWN BIKE?
Although we suggest to enjoy our selection of high end bikes we understand the desire to ride your own. If you decide to bring your bike on tour, you will be responsible for all shipping arrangements and maintenance. You will also be responsible for assembly and disassembly as needed.

SHOULD I BRING MY OWN SADDLE, HELMETS AND PEDALS?
If you are concerned about being as comfortable on the bike as possible we encourage you to bring your own saddle, helmets and pedals from home. Otherwise we can provide them for you.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

WHAT AGE IS REQUIRED TO JOIN A VAGO CYCLING TOUR?
To participate in a Vago Cycling tour, travelers must be age 18 or older.

CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT WHO’S ALREADY SIGNED UP FOR A TOUR?
Of course you can: ask us about the demographics of the tour you’re interested in to learn about the make-up of each group.

ARE NON-RIDERS WELCOME TO THE TOUR?
If you have a travel companion who does not wish to cycle please contact us. A proposal of non riding activities and a custom quotation will be provided on a case by case basis.

CAN YOU HELP WITH TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS?
We cannot make flights, trains or hotels reservations before or after your trip but we are always happy to help and give advices if needed. Do not hesitate to ask for any support.

ARE TRANSFERS PROVIDED AT THE START AND END OF THE TOUR?
Since our guests arrive from several different places, groups meet at a prearranged meeting point. At the end of the tour guests are left at a prearranged drop off point. Details of these locations are provided in every individual tour itinerary available on this website.

SHOULD I TIP YOUR STAFF?
We believe a recognition is appropriate if you feel like the staff has gone above and beyond to give you an outstanding experience. Anyway tipping is a very personal matter and is absolutely at your discretion. All eventual tips will be equally splitted between Vago team members.
